A 100 mile running race, at altitude of nearly 13,000 feet, started 30 years ago to attract endurance athletes, their families and friends to a down on it’s luck mining town. Mission accomplished! Today, thousands flock annually to this endurance mecca to test their mettle in the Leadville Race Series.
